China Camp cont'd...

...this is what happens when you go picnicking with designers who have "fantastical" eyes and perspectives.  I could barely look up from chasing the little one around and making sure he didn't plunge into the waters (three attempts mind you)  and was so glad Viola's husband Phillip (at Elephant LC) was able to take these beautiful pictures of China Camp. 

Friday Fotos: China Camp

Designing Mom Aya had the brilliant idea of escaping the San Fran fog with a picnic in Marin last weekend. Off we went across the Golden Gate bridge to China Camp for a picnic set amongst an antiquated shrimp processing building, dock and beach.  I also got to hang with Chewing the Cud's Viola, hubby Phillip and adorable baby Maika.  I'll post up Phillip's great BW shots Monday...

Friday Fotos: Kelle Hampton

I've been following Kelle Hampton's blog, Enjoying the Small Things ever since the birth of her daughter Nella...   You'll have to visit to experience it fully (and if you do, click on the "start here if you're new").  She is a true triumph and I'll never forget her first photos of having just given birth to her daughter.  She knew almost instantly that her baby had down syndrome and the photos captured her joy, raw fear and confusion at their greatest heights.

Just last night I re-visited her blog and her latest post was a wonderful update, saying she floats happily now...still aware, but floating on happiness.  And the most current photo (at bottom) of Nella says it all.  What an inspiration.

Father's Day Fotos: Dear Ol' Dad

And to cap it off...this one is a reminder to celebrate not just the dads of our little ones, but our dads as well.

Well, it's father's day this weekend, and you've asked for pics of our dads. I know that the focus here is supposed to be on my children's dad, but I wanted to make sure to honor my own dad this weekend. While my two little girls have a fantastic daddy, I wouldn't be where I am without my own dear ol' dad.

My dad taught me to be creative, to be passionate and to be courageous. My dad taught me that the "squeaky wheel gets the oil"! My dad taught me about his art, and let me teach him back about mine. My dad is the only person I know who can go to the art store with me and stay with me in the pen section for an hour, discussing the merits of one pen or another. My dad is my hero, my best friend and a really supreme mentor who I'd be lost without. I love you daddy!

Wow...what a week of wonderful Father's Day fotos! Thanks to everyone for sharing such special moments. I don't think there's anything more heart warming than seeing a dad grinning ear to ear with his family. If any of you have pics out there feel free to keep sending them and I'll try my best to post. This is our favorite photo is from a recent trip to Disneyland. Our son NEVER wears hats, but wouldn't take his mouse ears of of his little head for the entire day. This shot is of him noticing his shadow and being mesmerized by his mouse ear silhouette while holding his favorite person on the planet's hand, his Daddy's. Branden said that this was one of the best days he has ever had with his son and so of course he will be getting this picture in a frame for father's day.
